Audimax School of Economics and Law

New center on campus

Conversion of the former university library into the central event room and auditorium of the School of Economics and Law as well as extensive renovation of the historic ceiling structures over several floors. Due to the rapidly growing number of students at the Schönefeld Campus of the School of Economics and Law in Berlin, a central lecture and event space is needed as part of the structural site development.

Auditorium Maximum

A two-story room of large dimensions in the center of the building, which originally functioned as a festival and lecture hall, was previously used as the university library before being converted into the central Auditorium Maximum. The comprehensive conversion into an assembly hall includes the renovation and preparation for use as a modern and flexible lecture hall, the dismantling of fixtures, the creation of additional accesses from the point of view of fire protection, spatial divisibility by means of mobile partition elements, room and building acoustic installations, mechanical ventilation, cooling, darkening, media and event technology as well as the complete furnishing.

Extensive refurbishment

In addition, due to the historic condition of the building, extensive refurbishment and upgrading of the reinforced concrete ribbed ceiling structures is required, which is being carried out by specialist companies.
