Transparent management
The subject of the restricted architectural competition with a preliminary application procedure is a new building for the administration of the German Federal Parliament in Berlin-Mitte.
Sustainable building and ensemble protection
The new office building was designed to house various departments of the administration with over approx. 475 usable units and a canteen for working staff. In addition to architectural and functional quality, the design concept was also convincing from an economic and energetic point of view. The aspects of sustainable construction and monument preservation concerns of the ensemble protection were also taken into account.
Urban accent
The urban planning idea of the project is convincing due to its scaled setting. In particular, the façade concept successfully reproduces the module of the office unites in the street space. The sculptural window modules emphasize the impression and convey a transparent and modern appearance. With its clear contours, eaves design and its connections to the excisting buildings around, the design takes into account the scale of the monument ensemble. The chosen foyer situation offers an appropriate openness and good address formation.
