Pilot new school building
The subject of the restricted competition is the construction of a new school building for the Leonardo da Vinci Gymnasium in Berlin-Neukölln.
The state of Berlin intends to realize the Leonardo da Vinci Gymnasium as one of three new pilot school buildings under the special aspect of sustainability. The project meets the demanding urban planning and design requirements in accordance with the principles of energy-optimized and sustainable construction and implements the energy standard of nearly zero-energy buildings in accordance with the EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings (EPBD) in an exemplary and future-oriented manner.
Energy-efficient and sustainable
The space program of the new school building for 850 students comprises a usable area of over 6,000 square meters. In addition to the general classrooms and the administration area, it includes in particular the specialist rooms for chemistry, physics, biology and IT, a leisure area and a cafeteria.
