Living on the art campus

Living in the Europacity

The subject of the invited architectural competition is a residential building in a central urban location with 116 apartments and several commercial units on the first floor. With reference to the special location on the bank of the Berlin-Spandau shipping canal and at the same time as a building block of the new Europacity, a mixed urban quarter with housing, commerce and culture, the 7-story building combines structural and design themes from these contexts. The large urban scale with strong framing is just as present as a differentiated spatial staggering and depth of loggias and terraces for the residents.

Between water and art

Together with other new buildings and neighboring galleries and art collections, the new residential building forms the art campus. The campus is centrally located in Berlin and adjacent to the main train station, major museums, the government district and the new Europacity. The property is located directly on the Schifffahrtskanal, not far from the Hamburger Bahnhof, an important museum of the present. The extraordinary location, the direct accessibility and the immediate proximity to the avant-garde art and culture scene in the city are unique.
