Ecological living concept
The housing estate consisting of 22 types of residential houses in the south of the island Sylt was built in ecological timber hybrid construction in the form of terraced, semi-detached and detached houses. A total of 32 residential units with living spaces ranging from 45 to 135 square meters were built in the immediate vicinity of the North Sea seaside and at the foot of the Budersand golf course.
Colors of the north
The northern end of the settlement is formed by 12 houses in rows, directly adjacent to the dune and nature reserve of the golf course. Due to the untouchability of the landscape space, the houses are accessed from the south side via their front gardens, creating open and communicative neighborhoods. The detached and semi-detached houses further south are set freely and gently in the heathland, with the property boundaries deliberately left unstressed. The distinctive color scheme of the houses emphasizes the aspect of diversity within the structural unity and at the same time makes reference to Nordic life forms.
