Added value
The BDE was founded in the 1960s as a Federal Association of the German Waste Management, Water and Raw Materials Industry e.V.. The member companies of the BDE represent the entire value chain of the recycling and resource management. Not far from the Tiergarten on the Reichpietschufer, opposite to the Bauhaus Archive, is the site for the BDE’s new headquarters in Berlin, which is intended to convey the association’s substantive orientation in a special way.
Raw materials recycling
A sustainable and modern office and administration building is being developed that is both a representative office for the federal association and offers a flexible range of space on five floors in accordance with the differentiated requirements. The facade is designed as an expression of a transparent and inviting representative office, with solar protection panels made of recycled raw materials planned in the area of the extensive glazing. This contrasts with the solid framing of exposed concrete, also with aggregates made from recycled materials, which gives the building an overall expressive and clear stature.
