The subject is the tender procedure of WBM housing association for architectural and general planning services for the construction of a new residential development in Rauchstraße in Berlin-Spandau.
Two large-scale residential blocks form a separate urban and residential quarter with over 350 residential units of various sizes and layouts in the immediate vicinity of the waterfront. All apartments are oriented towards the quiet, green inner area and, due to the continuous green space connecting both apartment blocks, have a direct and attractive relationship to the waterfront. The design simultaneously vividly and logically develops its defining parameters. Economic and ecological features are integrated into a holistic, urban and architectural overall concept.
